What is Fairtrades and when was it established?
Fairtrades is a trade association that was formed in 1983.
What criteria have to be met to become a member?
You must pass a credit check, be able to furnish us with customer referee's (plus a recent project that we can inspect).details of a current public liability insurance (plus employers liability if you employ people direct payroll) and we will need to know the details of all proprietors/partners or directors.
Does Fairtrades cover several sectors?
We would consider any business's connected with home improvements.
How much would it cost?
Membership cost £649.00 plus VAT, this includes a sub licence for TrustMark, inspection fees and access to our award winning insurance backed guarantee scheme). Membership can be paid in convenient quarterly Direct Debits

You have worked with Polish people. Do you think Polish builders can find Fairtades attractive?
Yes Polish builders would most certainly find Fairtrades attractive because it gives credibility and peace of mind to the customer, a great marketing tool, and of course many useful membership benefits including job leads. We are very keen to work closely with Polish builders by attending and supporting the various events organized.
